There were a lot of ups and downs on the last season of “The Bachelorette” with Kaitlyn Bristowe, who eliminated Ben Higgins during the sixth week of the season. Now that Bristowe finally picked her fiancé, Higgins gets to be the new bachelor in Season 20.
The first episode of “The Bachelor” finally aired on Jan. 4 and viewers were introduced to all of the contestants fighting to win Higgins’ heart.
While fans get to watch “The Bachelor,” they also get to read about Higgins’ thoughts during each episode. He recently blogged on People magazine about his date with Lauren B saying that he was “really excited” about it because they “had a great connection on the first night.”
Laurent B. “intrigued” Higgins a lot that he “really wanted to get to know more” about her. Their first date was on a airplane, but this “was a little different than the planes that either of us had ever been in and I was doing everything possible to not act scared out of my mind.”
While enjoying the beautiful scenery, Higgins admitted, “The most frustrating part about the whole thing thought was the headsets! I wanted to kiss her so badly up there but those damn headsets kept getting in the way!”
For the group date, World Cup Champions Alex Morgan and Kelly O’Hara made an appearance to teach the women. During the date, Higgins appeared to be more impressed with Emily, who played an “unbelievable goalie.”
Higgins admitted that he “was really put off by” Jubilee’s energy at the beginning of the date. She didn’t seem as excited for the date as Higgins was, which made it “a little bit of a bummer.” However, she did start to loosen up when they got in the helicopter. She got to show her personality and humor more, which made him realize that she was just nervous.
As far as the rose ceremony, Higgins admitted that if course, it is never easy.
“You’d think that rose ceremonies would get easier as I would go. I know the women better now and it should get easier knowing who should stay and whom I should let go back to their lives at home. And in a way it does. But it also gets so much harder knowing how wonderful these women actually are and knowing that i will be hurting them by not giving them a rose. Jami and Shushanna are two women with some of the best energy of anyone in the house, but I knew at that point that they were not the ones for me. And I hope that going home they didn’t lose sight of the fact that any man would be lucky to have them and will be some day in the very near future I’m sure,” said Higgins.
