"Mr. Robot" ended its first season with a lot of cliffhangers. Many questions are waiting to be answered in season 2, but series creator Sam Esmail has kept mum about which specific story arcs will be explored in the upcoming installment of the USA show.
However, the lack of details has not stopped fans from guessing which stories the next season of the show starring Rami Malek will be about. Below are some fan theories about what might be revealed in season 2.
1. Tyrell will use Elliot to his advantage.

Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom) was there when Elliot (Malek) executed the hack on Evil Corp., Redditor gbalduzzi believes, and the former ECorp. executive has the encryption key to restore everything that was deleted during the hack. Wellick will use the encryption key as a way to get the position he has been coveting, the Redditor adds.
Fans will remember that Wellick was with Elliot before the hack happened but was nowhere to be found after it was executed.

2. Darlene is not really Elliot's sister.
One of the biggest revelations in season 1 is Darlene's relationship with Elliot. Darlene, however, was not part of the montage showing Elliot's family when he was at Times Square after executing the hack on ECorp. Esmail has also teased that there is a reason why Darlene was not part of the scene, prompting fans to question whether Darlene and Elliot really are related.
3. Angela and Elliot's past will be revealed.
Many fans believe that Angela (Portia Doubleday) and Elliot were romantically involved. There is a huge chunk of their history that hasn't been explored. Fans only know that their main thing in common is that their parents - Angela's mother and Elliot's father - died because of complications from working at ECorp. But the interaction between the two, according to some fans, suggests that they have a romantic history.
