Despite the death of Jiah Khan in June 2013, the makers of “Housefull” and “Housefull 2” are getting ready to release the third installment. We haven't seen a lot of sneak peeks from the film, but we are slowly hearing about a few new details.
We’ve seen Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai star in a variety of films together such as “Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke,” “Kuch Na Kaho,” “Guru,” “Dhoom 2,” Umrao Jaan” and a few others.
Now, that married couple can add “Housefull 3” to their list of movies that they have featured in together...kind of. Rai’s statue will reportedly make an appearance in the movie, which stars her husband, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Lisa Haydon, Nargid Fakhri and Jacqueline Fernandez.
For the climax of the movie, which is currently being shot in London, the makers wanted to shoot in Madame Tussauds, but they unfortunately didn’t get permission for it. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala put up a set that looks exactly like the wax museum and replicated a number of celebrity statues.
According to Filmi Beat, Bachchan will be hiding behind the statue of Rai in one of the scenes.
We’ve previously seen the first look of the movie in a poster, which features all of the actors leaning against a wooden fence with a green background.
The movie is expected to release on June 3, 2016, which marks exactly three years after Khan’s death.
“When Sajid and Farhad narrated the script of H3 to Ritesh, he said yes immediately. It’s a hilarious script written by the director duo,” said an insider. “Also, he is looking forward to working again with Abhishek, with whom he did ‘Bluffmaster.’ Besides, he shares a good working relationship with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, so there was no reason for him turn down this offer.”
The producer as well as the directors were hesitant about approaching Deshmukh at first because of his friendship with Khan, but the actor doesn’t allow personal stuff get in the way of work.
“He had a work with Khan before he signed on H3 and told him he was doing the film,” said a source in the film. “Sajid too was happy for him and gave his good wishes. Riteish has been a very dear friend of his and both are very clear about one thing - they won’t allow work to get in the way of, and ruin, their close friendship.”
