"Elementary" star Johnny Lee Miller recently sat down to discuss the show's fourth season and revealed if there is hope for a romance between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Joan Watson.

Miller confirmed to the New York Post that it is unlikely Sherlock and Joan will fall in love on "

"I think we're all on the same page here as far as that goes, Holmes and Watson's relationship is sacred," he explained. "If you change that, then the show is not about Holmes and Watson anymore. There are some things you can play with it, and some you can't. The fact that one's a man and one's a woman is irrelevant; it's who they are as people that's important. The original Holmes and Watson weren't romantically involved, and therefore, neither should we be romantically involved."

Even though it is unlikely that Sherlock and Joan will fall in love, Miller added that their friendship is the heart of the show and that won't change unless a love interest is introduced for one of the characters.

"It's good to have people's mind racing and thinking about one thing or another, but we're in the Holmes and Watson business," he said. "That won't change unless someone else swoops in and takes over and turns the ship upside-down."

Miller also pointed out that he is confident that "

"The great thing about this creation, both in Conan Doyle's version and our version, is that it delivers what people want from Sherlock Holmes-a rock-steady presence," the actor explained. "Plus, we can serialize our stories. The core element-Holmes and Dr. Watson-are going to be there and are, essentially, the same people as the original. The fact that Sherlock is in recovery gives you somewhere to move, but we don't want to move away too far from who he is. I don't think that would satisft viewers."

Aside from Miller's new interview, CBS released the official synopsis for episode 13.

According to SpoilerTV, "A Study In Charlotte" is going to revolve around Sherlock and Joan's search for a killer who used poisonous mushrooms to murder a botany professor and some of his students.

Meanwhile, Joan is also going to discover that her neighbor Trent is renting out his home through a vacation site that caters to hard partiers and will do her best to stop the constant noise.
