"House of Cards" has found another way to further blur the lines between fiction and reality with another political stunt.

On the morning of Feb. 22, the official "House of Cards" Twitter sent out a cryptic tweet letting fans know to look out for news coming later in the day.

With season 4 just around the corner, fans were expecting to see a new trailer. We should have known it would not be something boring like that.

There was no trailer. Instead, Netflix and "House of Cards" unveiled the official presidential portrait of President Francis J. Underwood in the Smithsonian.

Like the unveiling ceremonies for all the real presidents, press was in attendance. Kevin Spacey — in full-fledged POTUS mode — was there to answer questions, and Doug Stamper was there to escort him.

The Baltimore Sun reported that when the press asked Spacey to weigh in on Trump, he said, "Listen, I have an election to win myself. I can't spend any time thinking about what's going on [in] the real world. "

The majority of the promotion for "House of Cards" season 4, has been running alongside the presidential elections. Netflix has been rubbing the fictional Underwood world against our very real political climate, and the outcome has been very fun to watch.

Despite the fictional hoopla of the event, Spacey did talk about the portrait and playing Frank.

"I think what's really interesting about the portrait is that it almost looks like you're looking through a lens or images in frames," Spacey told reporters. "I suppose. There's a sense that it's through something, and I think that's very interesting given that we're streaming."

The intentionality of the portrait to blend the entertainment world and the real one could be seen very clearly in the way it was painted.

The artist, Jonathan Yeo, said that the portrait is obviously trying to mimic the real thing in style, and he "lashed it through with brushstrokes to suggest [the work is] a digital image flickering on the screen."

Finally, Spacey was asked what Frank would think about the portrait: "I think that if you compare it to what Frank spends a good amount time of doing, which is looking you directly in the eye and telling you exactly what he thinks, I think this is pretty good direct address," Spacey answered. "So, I think he'd be pleased with it."

"House of Cards" season 4 is available Friday, March 4, on Netflix.
