"The Originals" co-executive producer Michael Narducci recently sat down to discuss the midseason premiere and hinted there could be some tension between Cami O'Connell and Klaus Mikaelson as she navigates her new life as a vampire.
In "The Originals" midseason premiere, it was revealed that Cami was compelled by Klaus Mikaelson's former flame Aurora to drink the sire's blood and then commit suicide so she would transform into a vampire.
Narducci told TV Guide that Cami is going to struggle with her new life and is going to try to keep her darker impulses in check.
"She's going to swing in the way of her impulses and embracing the newfound power that she has," he explained. "She might be more inclined to take what she wants because she can. She's always been crafty and cunning and she will continue to do so. There are enemies out there and she's going to want to deal with them and not play any kind of victim card, but be a little more physical."
Narducci added that Klaus is going to help Cami adjust to her new life but there's a chance that their relationship is going to fail because they might wind up bringing out the worst in each other.
"I think he'll be a good influence on her in terms of teaching her how to feed or how to compel and how to vamp," he said. "I don't think he's going to say 'Now Cami, I think you should be on a steady diet of rabbits and deer because that is what's morally correct.' That's not Klaus. There's a chance that this path might bring out the worst in them."
Now that Cami is a vampire, she might want to take revenge on Aurora and there is a good chance that she could convince Klaus to kill his former flame.
"Cami is first going to have to come to terms with who and what she is," he explained. "Then she is going to have to decide. She will have an absolutely clear perspective on her feelings toward Aurora going forward. It's not the kind of feeling that human Cami would have had."
Aside from Cami struggling with her new life as a vampire, the CW announced that Nathaniel Buzolic is going to reprise his role of Kol in "The Originals" season three, episode 13.
Carter Matt reported that the synopsis for "Heart Shaped Box" revealed that the Strix are going to recruit Davina to perform a powerful spell that could save the lives of her closest friends.
Davina is also going to figure out a way to conjure Kol's spirit in order to discover the key ingredient she needs to use for the resurrection spell.
Meanwhile, Aurora is going to use Freya as bait in order to lure the Mikaelson brothers into a dangerous trap and Hayley will be forced to make a heartbreaking sacrifice.
"The Originals" is currently airing on Friday nights at 9 p.m. on the CW.
