New spoilers for "The Flash" season two revealed that Barry Allen is going to fight Hunter Zolomon (Zoom) in a fight during episode 18.
Comic Book reported that the CW released the official promotional trailer for "Versus Zoom" and it hinted that Barry is going to duke it out with Hunter.
There is one scene where Barry and Hunter are fighting in what appears to be a warehouse. It is possible that Barry traveled to Earth-2 in order to defeat the evil speedster, but there is also the chance Zoom opened a breach to Earth-1 in order to kill his nemesis.
The preview for "Versus Zoom" also revealed that Team Flash is going to learn more about the mysterious Hunter Zolomon.
One scene showed Earth-2 Dr. Harrison Wells telling Barry and the others Zoom's real name. The scientist then added that Hunter was a convicted serial killer who gained his powers when the prison tried executing him using the electric chair.
Previously, "The Flash" hinted that Zoom had taken the speedster drug Velocity-9 in order to increase his speed, but the formula caused rapid cellular degeneration and this side effect was killing him.
It will be interesting to see if Hunter's illness makes it easier for Barry to defeat him in a fight.
Another scene in the trailer hinted that Barry had finally become fast enough to defeat Zoom in a fight.
Barry went back in time in episode 17 to pick Eobard Thawne's brain and get some suggestions about how to defeat Zoom.
Even though his plan did not go smoothly, Barry's former nemesis reluctantly agreed to hand over all the data he had about the speed force.
TVLine pointed out that perhaps Team Flash used Eobard Thawne's data to finally crack the speed equation and help Barry learn how to run faster than Zoom.
"The Flash" season two will return on Tuesday, April 19, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
