"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" will soon be back with 13 new episodes on Netflix, but will fans get a new Titus-inspired anthem to sing along with when the hilarious series returns with season two?
Fans will never forget Titus' viral video for his hit song, "Peeno Nior," and apparently the ultra chic rising star, played by Tituss Burgess, may have another musical gem on his hands when UKS returns.
According to UKS co-creator Robert Carlock, Titus will debut a new song sometime during season two that's sure to knock the socks of fans who may still be obsessing over his first music video sensation, "Peeno Nior," Entertainment Weekly reported.
"I'm hoping the viral song is a song that Titus, in a sort of feverish fugue, sings about teeth. I'll say no more," Carlock said. "It might be my favorite thing, but it's going to be fun and bright and funny and also horrifying. A mixed tone - these kinds of things where they sound like they shouldn't be funny - might be what Tina [Fey] and I have decided that's we do now."
The show runner revealed there will be even more singing and dancing featured in the upcoming season of the Netflix original series simply because the cast and crew had so much fun with the theatrics in season one.
"It always has to make sense and be driven by story," Carlock explained. "I think you could have done a 30 Rock where everyone was singing and they find out there's a gas leak or something. But as extreme as the situations are in the Kimmy Schmidt world, we try to live in a realer version. Kimmy already has a song in her heart, and it's part of Titus's character as a theater guy to know that songs can be an effective way to communicate emotion."
As for whether or not fans can expect to see Kimmy's divorced friend Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) belting out high-notes on season two, Carlock said, "The bitter irony is that we think Jacqueline can't sing. Poor Jane has to just sit there and listen to everyone else."
We can't wait for all the singing, dancing and hilarious moment sure to come when "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" returns to Netflix with season two on April 15.
