Melody Mitchell is the newest "Black Ink Crew" cast member, and she's already made quite a splash since becoming one of Black Ink's newest tattoo artist.
The 27-year-old almost found herself without a job just moments after Ceaser's right hand man Ted hired her on the latest episode of BIC. Despite her initial explosive encounter with Ceaser, the Tampa native has managed to blend in with the Black Ink team seamlessly.
Melody recently dropped a few gems about herself during an interview with VH1, and she definitely seems to have a personality made for reality TV.
Get to know more about Black Ink's newest artist and check out the top eight things we learned about Melody below:
8. She embraces her unfiltered lifestyle: "I try and keep guidelines for myself, but really I can't sensor myself too much. I don't care if I make an a** out of myself. I don't care if people don't like me. I know who I am. It took me a long time to find out who I am. I'm not really going to regret anything that I do."
7. She has a deep perspective of life: "I look for a deeper meaning in everything. I think that things happen for a reason. I don't believe in simple coincidences."
6. She only joined BIC to get more exposure for her work: "Everyone that knows me and knows my career is like, 'Why are you on reality TV?' I'm a diehard artist. I will die being a fine artist, so I'm not trying to be some TV personality. But I wanna get my portfolio out there. My s**t's good, so it's worth people looking at. If this is a sacrifice I have to make for people to see my work, I'll do it. And I plan on taking over the tattoo industry."
5. She doesn't mind being a little awkward: "I'd say I'm very corky. I can be a little awkward sometimes. I'm pretty comical. I'm pretty lighthearted. I like to have a good time. I don't wanna not enjoy every moment. You should be able to make fun of yourself. F**k it."
4. She may resemble Dutchess, but she relates to Sky more: "Right when I got to the show everyone was comparing me to Dutchess. We're both light skinned, and we got dreads. But I feel like personality wise I click with Sky. I f**k with Sky. Sky's cool. I don't know. I'm very unique. I ain't biting nobody's style."
3. She's just as crazy as the rest of the BIC cast: "I'm a great fit for Black Ink just 'cause I'm used to dealing with crazy motherf**kers, so I know how to handle all them. I kind of need to be around crazy people. I am crazy. It's best for me to be in my natural environment with other lunatics."
2. She's endured plenty of shortcomings that have made her who she is today: "I've gone through a lot of difficult things. I had a very violent childhood...a lot of poverty. I struggled with drugs and alcohol. Even sex was kind of a problem for me sometimes too. I've gone through a lot at a very young age, and I think it's kind of made me a little more aware of life. So I'm thankful for all the difficult times I've been through."
1. She knows her free spirit will be a hit with BIC fans: "In an industry full of tattoo artist what makes me different is the same thing that I think makes me different in a world full of people. I think it's my spirit. I like people will resonate with that."
