ABC recently announced that "Firefly" alum Jewel Staite is going to guest star in "Castle" season eight, episode 20.
Carter Matt reported that Staite is going to appear in episode 20 as the director of a Shakespearean play on Broadway who is shocked when one of the cast members is killed.
TVLine added that episode 20 is titled "Much Ado About Murder" and added that the cast member who died is also a big name movie star.
"Castle" co-executive producer Terence Paul Winter hinted that Staite and Fillion are going to appear in a few humorous scenes together.
"There are some great scenes between Staite, Fillion and the boys," he said. "She came to play, she was really great."
Entertainment Weekly wrote that "Castle" co-executive producer Alexi Hawley added that "Much Ado About Murder" is also going to explore what happens when popular Hollywood stars appear on Broadway and get mixed reviews for their performance.
"Episode 20 is our nod to Shakespeare and our nod to Hollywood action stars going to do Broadway with mixed results," he explained. "Jewel Staite came to play with us as the director of this doomed Shakespeare play."
Given the fact that "Much Ado About Murder" is an homage to the famous playwright William Shakespeare, it will be interesting to see if Staite's character is revealed to be the killer.
Having Staite's character would be a fascinating twist and would be in keeping with the tragic nature of some of Shakespeare's plays.
Staite also posted a funny behind-the-scenes picture on Twitter that showed the actress joking around with Fillion while they were filming "Much Ado About Murder."
"Castle" season eight is currently airing on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
