Chris Brown faced a lot of criticism after assaulting Rihanna, and after being charged and sent to jail, he stayed quiet about the incident until now.
We’ll finally get to hear from the “Loyal” singer in the upcoming documentary, “Welcome to My Life: The Official Chris Brown Documentary,” which received its first trailer Sunday. The movie will reportedly focus on Brown’s rise to fame as well as the 2009 assault.
The trailer features A-list musicians such as usher, Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, Mary J. Blige and more.
The video takes an intense and emotional turn when Brown starts to talk about the Rihanna controversy.
“This is the first time I get to say anything,” admits Brown.
The trailer features the R&B singer talking about the famous night before the Grammys, but also shows him looking into the feature.
“I went from being on top of the world, No. 1,” said Brown. “I felt like a f***ing monster. I was thinking about suicide, I wasn’t sleeping, I barely ate...If there was ever a doubt in your mind Chris Brown was done, he was finished...I wouldn’t bet on it.”
There isn’t a release date for the documentary yet, but Brown shared the trailer to his followers on Twitter Sunday.

Since that night in 2009, Brown has faced a lot of ups and downs when it came to the law. His probation surrounding the Rihanna incident ended in March 2015.
However, ever since Brown’s daughter Royalty was born, he has apparently become a changed man.
“It’s actually great. It’s very humbling. You know, it’s very calming. i think I was a lot, you know, rambunctious, very hyper as a kid but now seeing that 10 times over, my daughter’s kinda like mellowing me out,” said Brown previously to Ryan Seacrest of fatherhood.
