"Fifty Shades Darker" producer E.L. James has fired both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson from the highly-anticipated film sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey" after the two actors just didn't create enough chemistry to support the sexy second film of the series.
It seems that the rumors of no on-screen heat between Dornan who plays Christian and Johnson who plays Anastasia were true and that James had enough of watching her film lovers fall flat.
Although she loved the mix between Dornan and Johnson in "Fifty Shades of Grey," the chemistry just wasn't there on-set for "Fifty Shades Darker."
James' explosive decision to fire her two key leads comes after Dornan's reported inability to focus since the birth of his second child with wife Amelia Warner.
The actor has also taken extended time away from the set to fly back and forth to England to spend time with his family, including Warner, their new baby and daughter Dulcie.
Johnson was reportedly fired because she appeared to be "rushing" her way through the scenes as they were being filmed, creating a sense of urgency in scenes that required more time to explain key moments for the couple of Christian and Anastasia.
This has put the production in turmoil as James is scrambling for two new actors to step in and take over the roles.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is being filmed back to back with "Fifty Shades Freed" in Vancouver.
James has kept fans up-to-date with production via on-set photos on her official Instagram.
The two actors James recasts in the roles would have to clear their schedules for the next several months in order to film the two movies.
The writer of the books, which are a worldwide phenomenon is believed to be looking towards one of the sexiest men in the film industry to step in for the role of Christian.
"Erica needs someone who can step in and make this role their own very quickly," a source close to the production stated to The Sun.
"With production time at a premium, whomever Erica chooses will need to learn lines at a fast pace and be able to become Christian within the next several weeks," the source continued.
Johnson was reportedly crushed over losing the role of a lifetime.
"Dakota was heartbroken and stunned when Erica came to her trailer and delivered the news," a source told The Sun.
"She cried and begged Erica not to fire her, that she realized she had made a mistake and give her a chance to prove herself again as Anastasia. But Erica had made up her mind!" the source said.
Sigh, we hate to do this to you but... did you forget what day it is?
It's April Fools' Day! This information is not true at all. Got'cha!
