"Grimm" star Reggie Lee recently sat down to discuss his character Sergeant Drew Wu's transformation into a non-wesen werewolf and hinted that the cop could use his newfound abilities to fight the vigilante group known as Black Claw.
Previously, "Grimm" revealed that lycanthropes are blutbads that are suffering from a virus and this sickness was the inspiration for the modern werewolf myth.
Unfortunately, a werewolf scratched Sergeant Wu and now he is turning into a mysterious creature that hunts in the forest at night.
Lee told TVLine that Wu's new abilities could be permanent, especially if Nick is unable to find a cure for his friend.
"Wu's alter ego is not wesen, but something caused by a virus," he explained. "It's potentially permanent. Wu goes back in evolution."
The "Grimm" star added that in the next episode, Wu is going to get into a fight that leaves him worrying if he did something illegal after he transformed into a werewolf. This fear will force him to ask Nick and the others for help.
"That's when he asks Nick for help and admits that he doesn't know what is going on," Lee explained. "When you see a guy start to tear up, you know something's going on."
Lee told IGN that even if there is no cure for the werewolf virus, he hopes Wu winds up using his powers for good.
"I really hope that if this is a permanent change, Wu uses his powers for good rather than evil," the actor said. "I don't think Wu would become a villain. It wouldn't be congruent to his character at all. I think he'd want to help. I'm excited and scared to see where this goes."
Perhaps Nick and his friends will teach Wu how to control his powers and the cop will help Hadrian's Wall fight Black Claw.
"Grimm" season five is currently airing on Friday nights at 9 p.m. on NBC.
