The CW show "iZombie" has managed to attract over a million fans worldwide, but there are still a lot of people who remain unaware of its existence.
David Anders, who plays the villain Blaine DeBeers in the series, believes that people should give the show a shot.
"It's very funny," Anders told Parade of the show. "That's what drew me to it in the first place. It's full of funny, talented actors."
"I love shows like ours that can do it all. It can be very violent; it can be mean. But it can be frothy and fun," he added.
Anders also raved about the scripts churned out by showrunners Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. He especially loves the witty comebacks they give Blaine, and he suspects this is why fans love his villain even though he has done lots of horrible things.
"Blaine rides the line between smarm and charm," said Anders. "When you first met him, he was a drug dealer, and then he becomes a zombie, so he becomes a brain dealer. His endgame is to become the zombie kingpin of Seattle."
Anders even said that out of all the roles he has played - from Julian Stark in "Alias" to Josef Bazhaev in "24," Blaine holds a special place in his heart.
"Blaine DeBeers is as close to me as any character I've ever played," he laughingly said. "In spite of the horrible, horrible things he's done."
The show has just wrapped up its second season with the episode "Salvation Army." Anders' co-star Rahul Kohli, who plays medical examiner Ravi Chakrabarti, said that a lot of the major characters are now at risk for their lives.
"I just felt like Ravi's life has become extremely dangerous, as has everyone's," he told Comic Book Resources. "Seattle's become a dangerous place to live."
"iZombie" season 3 is slated for the 2016-2017 roster of The CW.
