"Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale has shared her thoughts about rumors going around for years now that her character Aria is A a.k.a the show's big villain.
In an interview with Vulture, the actress opened up about why she thinks there have been speculations for years and why she thinks her character is innocent.
"It's really as simple as that. Her name starts with an 'a' and that has obviously been a very popular letter throughout the course of the show," Hale said. "But the fans of our show really pay attention to details and they come up with their own theories and stories."
The actress also said that when she reads some fan theories sometimes, she finds that some of them really make sense.
Hale added: "And out of all the girls, she's the one who's missing in action a lot. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) is always there, she's in the battleground. But Aria sometimes isn't there, and that raises a lot of eyebrows for some people, too."

The actress also gave insight into Aria's college days, which were not shown on the show.
"I want to say Aria had a really good college experience," Hale said. "She left Rosewood and all of the relationships behind and was really putting her best foot forward to make the most of it and get the career she wanted, meet new people, meet a new love, and work hard to forget the torment she went through for all of those years."
The torment will continue now that Aria, along with the other Liars, are back in Rosewood. And after everything, Hale would like to see a tragic end to the story.
"I used to say I wanted the show to end walking away in the sunset, all happy, living an A-free life, like no drama," Hale said during an appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." "But I don't. I want it to end really tragically."
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 has not been given an air date, but shooting for the installment will start in October, according to Hale.
