Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie are set to star in a new miniseries called "The Night Manager," which is slated to make its U.S. debut on Tuesday, April 19, on AMC.

Variety reported that "The Night Manager" is based on a novel of the same name that was published in 1993 by author John le Carre.

The six-part miniseries follows Hiddleston's character, Jonathan Pine, who is a former British soldier that now works as a luxury hotel manager. He is recruited to infiltrate the network of an international arms dealer named Richard Onslow Roper, who is portrayed by Hugh Laurie.

If you're a fan of Hiddleston and Laurie, then check out our list of the three reasons why we're excited to watch AMC's "The Night Manager."

3. Hiddleston Can Show Off His Acting Chops

Hiddleston is best known for playing the lovable villain Loki in Marvel's "Avengers" and "Thor" films.

However, Hiddleston's role in "The Night Manager" is far more complex than playing a comic book villain, and this miniseries is a great way for him to show the world he is capable of playing a nuanced role.

2. It Will Be Interesting To See Laurie Play A Villain

Many people know Laurie from his work on "House M. D." and loved watching him play Gregory House, who was a misanthropic medical genius that was addicted to pain medication.

Even though House could be very sarcastic, underneath his hard exterior was a heart of gold.

However, it will be interesting to see Laurie portray a menacing villain in "The Night Manager."

1. The Miniseries Raises Fascinating Ethical Questions

Rolling Stone pointed out that in order to get close to Richard, Jonathan is forced to engage in criminal activities and become "the second worst man in the world."

"The Night Manager" also raises a few fascinating ethical questions over the course of the miniseries, including whether it is morally correct to commit crimes if you are doing it for the greater good.

"The Night Manager" will premiere on Tuesday, April 19, at 10 p.m. on AMC.
