"The Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham recently announced that she is going to leave the show after the season eight ends.
US Magazine reported that Graham revealed she was going to leave "The Vampire Diaries" after season eight at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday and admitted she was going to have a difficult time saying goodbye to her friends.
"Season eight will be my last," the actress said. "I just hope that whatever I do, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."
Even though Graham will be leaving the show in the future, she admitted that she is excited for her fans to see the intense character arc that is in store for Bonnie at the end of "The Vampire Diaries" season seven.
"There's some really intense stuff with my character this season," she explained. "I think the biggest episodes I've ever had are 20, which airs on April 20, and 21, which airs on May 6. It is pretty major for the character. There's huge plot turns, a lot of stunts and cool stuff."
Graham also hinted to TVLine that "The Vampire Diaries" season eight is going to leave fans speechless.
"Another season is a whole other year," she said. "We're going to blow it out."
Previously, "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev made the decision to leave the show at the end of the sixth season.
Her character Elena Gilbert was cursed by Kai and her life force linked to her friend Bonnie Bennett so that she will only wake up once the witch dies.
Now that Graham is leaving at the end of season eight, it will be interesting to see if the executive producers will kill Bonnie off or if they will simply have the character move to another town during the finale.
"The Vampire Diaries" season seven is currently airing on Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
