For years now, there have been rumors that the creators of “Love & Hip Hop” were expanding their franchise down to the sunny, sandy beaches of Miami, and those rumors are finally coming true.
According to one of Miami’s most famous rappers, Trick Daddy, he and LHH creator Mona Scott Young have been steadily working on curating a hot new cast for the latest edition of the franchise.
Fans are already obsessed with the New York, Hollywood and Atlanta series to come from the VH1 reality TV show, and Trick claims the Miami cast will bring just as much drama and entertainment to the LHH empire.
“I just met with Mona last week and we’re trying to do this thing right,” he said during an interview with Bossip. “Put some real Miami b***hes and real Miami n***as on the show.”
The 42-year-old -- who’s known for chart topping songs like “Nann,” “I’m a Thug,” “Shuttup” and “Thug Holiday” -- revealed filming for the new show will start either at the end of April or early May.
On the show, he’ll be managing two up-and-coming artists including rapper Mike Smith and Waist Gang Society’s CEO Premadonna, who fans saw briefly on LHHATL season four.
As for why Trick decided to join the first season of LHHM, the rapper said he basically just wanted to show fans the difference between the highly popular South Beach and Old Cutler, the road that separates Miami from the Everglades.
“I’m really doing Love & Hip Hop Miami because there’s a difference between Old Cutler money and South Beach money. Old Cutler money is grandfathered in, South Beach is investors,” Trick explained.
Granted all the LHH series’ are most known for the high level drama cast members face episode after episode, Trick said fans shouldn’t expect to see him feeding into any foolishness.
“One thing I won’t do is make a fool of myself,” he said. “If we gone make a fool of somebody it won’t be me, so it’ll be interesting.”
As we previously reported, when whispers first broke about a LHHM coming to VH1, rapper Trina was one of the first names reportedly on the cast.
The “Diamond Princess” never confirmed joining reality TV. However, The Shade Room recently reported the self proclaimed “Baddest B***h” will be featured on the upcoming series.
We would definitely love to see Trick and Trina reunited for reality cameras, so here’s to hoping LHHM will be premiering sooner rather than later.
