jap rock celebrity and dressmaker Yoshiki kicked off the week-lengthy Amazon vogue Week Tokyo on Monday, taking to the stage to operate song as fashions strutted through on the runway in his futuristic kimono creations.
Yoshiki, co-founder and drummer of rock band X Japan, performed the piano and drums all over the exhibit for his brand Yoshikimono, which offered kimonos in metallic colorings and leather in a contemporary twist to the typical garment.
models also wore printed strapless attire and see-through plastic tops.
"The total kimono business has been in disaster," Yoshiki, whose household ran a kimono shop, mentioned. "despite pros and cons (to) my method, I think Yoshikimono is meaningful when it comes to awakening interest (in kimonos)."
