When girls graduate, amazing things happen. They don't just make their own lives better, they go on to improve the lives of their families, communities—even the fortunes of entire countries.
That’s why it’s so heartbreaking that over 50 million girls around the world are missing out on the education they deserve. And it’s why we at Glamour started our nonprofit arm, The Girl Project, to empower girls through education. We’re helping young women across the globe get access to the things they need to stay in school—everything from tuition and after-school programs to teacher training and school supplies.
But we need your help.
On the International Day of the Girl on October 11, Glamour kicked off #WhenGirlsGraduate, a month of action dedicated to improving the lives of girls through The Girl Project. Here are a few ways you can get involved:
Host a group fundraiser We’ve started a Crowdrise campaign where you can personally help raise money for girls. Just visit that link, click on the fundraise tab, and start your own fundraiser. It could be a bake sale, a 5K run, a dinner party for friends—whatever you love to do! And if a one-time donation is more your jam, you can do that via Crowdrise, too.
Text GRADS to 20222 From now through November 14, your text message will donate $5 to The Girl Project.
Spread the word Help us rally support for the cause by tweeting, Instagramming, and Facebooking using #WhenGirlsGraduate. Help educate your friends on the importance of education for girls, and definitely keep us updated on what you’re doing to help girls this month!
Together we can give girls around the world access to education.
