The modern seaside city of Tel Aviv is poles aside from Israel's non secular hubs like Jerusalem or Tzfat. here, on the Mediterranean coast, the seashore is an everyday congregation of flesh, salt, and tattoos. "americans don't want to dress up—it's too sizzling for effort, so lazy, pretty, and naked is the appear," says photographer Mayan Toledano, who spent a few days shooting the locals on film. "each person's wearing their grandma's gold, so there is more focus on accessories, for sure."
