The 2016 Oscars nominations will soon be revealed, and we can’t wait to see what movies will be in the running for the Best Picture award.
2015 was truly a great year in film. There were so many good movies that were released, many of which are more than deserving of an award.
However, only one can take home the gold for Best Picture, and there’s a few in particular we’d love to see make the nominations list.
Check out the top five films we think should get an Oscar nomination for Best Picture below:

5. “Steve Jobs”: The Danny Boyle directed biofilm centers around the life of Apple co-founders Steve Jobs (played by Michael Fassbender) during the time the computer engineer unveiled the first Macintosh computer in 1984.

4. “The Big Short”: Adam McKay directed the feature film starring Hollywood A-listers including Brad Pitt, Steve Carell and Ryan Gossling. The movie follows the lives of a few good men who stumble upon a major scam in the banking industry, which eventually lead to the collapse of the economy.

3. “Carol”: Directed by Todd Haynes, Cate Blanchett plays the lead role of Carol, an older, sophisticated woman who finds herself in caught up in a heated love affair with a younger woman.

2. “The Martian”: Matt Damon stars in the Riddley Scott film as a lonely astronaut Mark Watney, who gets left behind on Mars during a space mission, and is left to survive on the lifeless planet while NASA scientist work diligently to get him back to Earth before it’s too late.

1. “The Revenant”: Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of iconic frontiersman Huge Glass, who survives a horrid bear attack and must find a way to overcome the harsh terrain and get back to his family.
