‘Arrow’ Season 4 Spoilers: Felicity Discovers Oliver Has A Son And Ends Their Engagement?

"Arrow" co-executive producer Wendy Mericle recently sat down to talk about the midseason premiere "Blood Debts" and hinted that the reason why Felicity Smoak ended her engagement to Oliver Queen is due to the fact that she found out about his illegitimate son.

In the flash-forward at the end of "Blood Debts," Oliver walked away from the mysterious grave and greeted Felicity, who was waiting for him inside of the limousine.

Sharp-eyed fans noted Felicity was not wearing her engagement ring and speculated that the couple had called off their wedding.

TVLine reported that Mericle hinted that there was a "visual clue" at the end of the flash-forward, which many fans took as a confirmation that the showrunners purposely made sure Felicity wasn't wearing her engagement ring in the scene.

"I definitely think there is some tension, " she said. "We're very intrigued to see if fans pick up on a very big clue about where they are in that point in their relationship."

There is a good chance that Felicity will find out that Oliver has been keeping Sandra and William's existence a secret from her.

If she's upset about the fact that her boyfriend has been lying to her, there is a good chance that she is going to want to put their engagement on hold and that would explain why she wasn't wearing her ring in the flash-forward.

Aside from the tension between Felicity and Oliver, Mericle hinted Laurel is going to have a major storyline in the second half of "

"We have some big plans for her," she explained. "She is going to be key to taking on Darhk in a very new kind of surprising way. We're going to see her in a role we haven't seen her in a while and it's going to put a cramp in Darhk's plans."

Since Laurel is a district attorney, there is a good chance that she will use her connections at work to hunt down the leader of H.I.V.E.

Finally, the CW released the first official picture of Megalyn Echikunwoke as Mari "Vixen" McCabe.

Echikunwoke is the voice actress of Mari on the CW animated series "Vixen," which revolves around a young vigilante from DC Comics who can access the power of different animals. The show is also set in the same world as "The Flash."

Den Of Geek reported that the image shows Echikunwoke wearing her yellow and black costume while crouching in front of Star City with a shadowy wolf next to her.
