‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Spoilers: Charlie Cox Teases Major Fight Scene With The Punisher

"Daredevil" star Charlie Cox recently hinted that his character Matt Murdoch is going to have a major fight scene with Frank Castle (the Punisher) in the upcoming second season.

In the first season of "

Cox told IGN that there are going to be a few fight scenes with the Punisher and Elektra that will surpass the epic sequence from the first season.

For viewers who have not read the original comics, Frank Castle becomes the vigilante known as the Punisher after he kills criminals he thinks are worthy of death while Elektra Natchios is Matt's old flame that became an assassin.

"In terms of season two, there's a number of really good fights," Cox said. "There is one in particular that I'm really excited about because it's kind of like an homage to that hallway scene from season one."

Given the fact that the Punisher is being set up as Matt's opposite in season two, there is a good chance that the two characters will face off in a major fight scene.

"I think the idea is to not spoon-feed anything and say this guy is a good guy or a bad guy," the actor explained. "We're just going to say that he is a man and let the audience make up their minds. I think this character has his own brand of justice, and I think he's in the process of figuring out what exactly that is. What's bold and fresh and new about this show is that it's not exactly going to make those decisions for you. It's going to encourage you to make those decisions yourself."

"I'm constantly looking for ways to abandon the audience and make them give up on me," Bernthal said. "Then I try to win them back in a different way. I think the idea is to go full force. It's not about finding middle ground. We don't have to explain why we're doing it, but later on we can be bold enough to say the character did this for a certain reason. It's a more nuanced way of telling a story and makes the Punisher a very complicated character."
