Deepika Padukone is one of the most loved actresses in the Bollywood industry by fans, directors and actors so it is no surprise that the “Tamasha” star has a full schedule of filming.
After releasing “Piku,” “Tamasha,” and “Bajirao Mastani,” Padukone is getting ready to work on other projects, and it appears that even Hollywood directors want to work with her.
There has been a lot of speculation that Padukone will be a part of Vin Diesel’s “XXX” franchise. Now, it’s been confirmed that the actress will be seen in the popular Hollywood movie and share screen space with Diesel.
After rumors about Padukone making her Hollywood debut, the actress finally speak out about the project and admits that she is excited.
Padukone is proud to have bagged a role in “XXX:The Return of Xander Cage,” but she is also nervous about going into a new territory. She will star in the third installment of the film with Diesel and Samuel L Jackson. She is proud that her ethnicity helped her get the role in the movie, which will give her the opportunity to flaunt her Indian background.
“I am very excited. But I want to confess that I am very nervous. Most importantly I feel proud to be a part of a film where I get to flaunt my ethnicity,” said Padukone according to Indian Express. “The reason they are roping me is because of my background. I really hope that i do well in the movie and people go and watch it.”
Padukone is happy to see all her efforts pay off two years in a row after success with “Piku,” “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani,” “Tamasha,” “Happy New Year” and “Chennai Express.”
“I work to compete with myself and keep setting the benchmark for myself, to keep bettering. After a successful 2014, I hoped I can do better and then it happened in 2015. It is my constant desire to keep improving,” said Padukone.
The director of “XXX: The Return of Zander Cage” confirmed the news on Twitter saying, “We start in January. She stars sometime in February.”
Speculations of the two working together first started making rounds when Padukone posted a mysterious photo posing with Diesel. Padukone kept the project under wraps while she flew to America to have a meeting with Diesel.
