The latest episode of "Shadowhunters," the TV series adaptation of Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book series, ended with a twist: Simon (Alberto Rosende) is no longer a mundane.
Clary (Katherine McNamara) solicited the help of Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and the Lightwoods — Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) — in finding her mundane, or in layman's terms human, best friend Simon. While they did manage to locate him, he's no longer a mundane when they reunited.
While being held captive by the head of the vampire clan named Camille Belcourt (Kaitlyn Leeb) at the Hotel DuMort, Simon was turned into a blood-hungry entity through a sip of Bloody Mary.
How will the transformation affect Simon's view of the Shadow World and the Downworld?
"In the books it felt as though Simon was very much...not opposed, but had a very hard time coming to terms with the Shadow World and the Downworld and everything that happens with him in these two worlds that he's trying to exist in," Rosende told Hypable.

The actor continued: "And in our [show] you see him really try to explore and understand the whole world that Clary has become a part of. In our show you really get to see him try to become a part of it a little bit more in a way that he tried to stay away from in the books."
Below is what fans can expect to happen to Simon and the other characters in the upcoming episode of the show titled "Raising Hell."
"After getting a clue about who may have wiped Clary's memories, the crew hunts down the High Warlock of Brooklyn, Magnus Bane. With all of the warlocks in hiding from Valentine, the team must lure Magnus out with something he can't refuse — a killer party andsomething very valuable. But with emotions running high, more may come out of their meeting with Magnus than just the retrieval of Clary's memories.
Meanwhile, Simon doesn't seem to be himself after his recent Downworlder encounter."
"Shadowhunters" airs Tuesdays, 9 p.m. on Freeform.
