After a huge success with “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” and "Tamasha," Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were reportedly going to do a new film together, but is her ex-boyfriend refusing to do so?
It’s no secret that Padukone and Kapoor share great on-screen chemistry together, but it seems like the “Roy” actor doesn’t like working with her on all projects. Kapoor apparently refuses to work with Padukone, but only on advertisements. Several major brands tried to convince him and Padukone to star together in an ad, but he refused and continued to do only solo ads.
According to Filmi Beat, a source said, “Ranbir has never done and will not do an ad with a Bollywood actress. The only exception has been Shruti Haasan, but she is hardly Bollywood. He has no problem shooting with someone from the South.”
“In the last five years, he has turned down at least 10 brands who have offered him ads with various heroines, including with Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone,” added the source.
Kapoor apparently feels that the product loses focus in the ad and everything becomes about the lead couple and their chemistry.
“So you will find him doing solo ads or with models. At least for now, that’s his plan but who knows what happens later! Priorities and people change,” concluded the source.
However, previous reports circulated that Padukone and Kapoor were going to reunite with a new film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
The script is reportedly ready with the producer, which he has pitched to the actors. Surprisingly, Padukone and Kapoor agreed to work together.
“Mr. Nadiadwala has pitched them some interesting story ideas. Now, it all depends on which script they eventually agree on. Both Ranbir and Deepika have agreed to team up again, but this is just in the initial stages as both actors are busy with prior commitments,” said a source close to the producer, according to Filmi Beat.
