Tyler Hoechlin of MTV's "Teen Wolf" has joined the cast of "Fifty Shades Darker" as Boyce Fox. Hoechlin joins the production already in progress, starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.
The character of Fox will be the first writer signed by Anastasia Steele (Johnson) after she becomes an editor at a publishing house owned by Christian Grey (Dornan), according to The Wrap.
The sequels find Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan reprising their respective roles and will be joined by "Fifty Shades of Grey" stars Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Victor Rasuk, Rita Ora, Max Martini and Marcia Gay Harden in the anticipated sequel.
Added to the cast for "Fifty Shades Darker" are actors Kim Basinger, Bella Heathcote, Eric Johnson, Fay Masterson and Robinne Lee.
Hoechlin is best known for playing Derek Hale on MTV's "Teen Wolf" and Martin Brewer on "7th Heaven."
The actor has also appeared as Tom Hanks' son in "Road to Perdition" and recently wrapped "Stratton" with Dominic Cooper, Tom Felton, and Austin Stowell.
James Foley will direct the sequel to the original film, "Fifty Shades of Grey" for Universal Pictures.
Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti, Marcus Viscidi and author E.L. James are the producers of the film series.
"Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" will film back-to-back in order to accommodate the actors schedules.
The movie will film in Vancouver and also in Paris for several key scenes.
In "Fifty Shades Darker," fans will get a more intimate look at the relationship of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey as the couple move forward quickly into their sexual life, but at what cost to their personal and professional relationships?
The sequel will also see the character of Christian wrestling with his inner demons brought on by a complicated childhood. Ana will also fight for Christian against the woman who led him to a darker way of loving, Elena Lincoln (Basinger).
"Fifty Shades Darker" will hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
