Syfy released a new trailer for "The Magicians" episode eight and it revealed that Penny could die from a mortal wound.
SpoilerTV noted that the preview for "The Strangled Heart" showed that Quentin Coldwater and Penny Adiyodi are participating in what appears to be a tournament.
During the swordfight, Penny gets stabbed and Quentin immediately starts calling for help.
In another scene, Quentin recruited Alice to help him heal the dying Penny and it appeared as if they are going to perform a spell in order to save his life.
The preview for "The Strangled Heart" also hinted that the man who stabbed Penny in the stomach during the sword fight could have been possessed and it will be interesting to see if his actions have anything to do with the mysterious Beast.
Aside from Penny being in mortal danger, "The Magicians" star Hale Appleman hinted to Zap2It that his character Eliot Waugh is going to explore his powers and try to figure out his feelings for Mike.
"Mike stirs something up in Eliot that is completely reflective of the past he's trying to forget. It is turned on its head because all Eliot feels are these incredibly intimate feelings for this guy he doesn't even know," the actor explained. "It's the last thing you would expect from Eliot; you wouldn't expect him to just fall for someone. But there's a wild card with him, which can rear its ugly head when you least expect it."
Finally, Syfy released the titles of the last two episodes in "The Magicians" season one.
SpoilerTV wrote that episode 12 is going to be called "Thirty-Nine Graves" while episode 13, which is the season one finale, is titled "Have You Brought Me Little Cakes."
"The Magicians" is currently airing on Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
