True Story: When Taylor Swift Was Bullied in School, Her Mom Took Her Shopping to Feel Better

Just ask Taylor Swift and her mom Andrea: Retail Therapy is real. The pop star just shared some personal facts with US Weekly, including a story about how she used to handle mean girls.

"When I was bullied in school my mom used to take me to T.J.Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry," she said, revealing opals are this girl's best friend. "I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better. We never bought them, just looked." Sweet huh? (And Calvin, remember this for next year's anniversary gift.)

Other fashion facts we learned? Her favorite fall shades to wear are maroon, mustard, dark green, and navy blue, and her polished ladylike style wasn't always her go-to look. "I used to wear a Victoria's Secret Pink hoodie and sweatpants to school on a regular basis," she admitted, making us think about all the stuff we wore in college that we just can't deal with anymore. See? Cinderella shoes aside, Taylor's just a regular girl who loves comfy pants and shopping with her mom.
