Various rumors have been making rounds about Calvin Harris releasing new music after his girlfriend Taylor Swift teased a logo that hinted at the DJ’s new project.
After dropping a few hints about his new single, he went to Twitter to confirm the news earlier this week talking about his new collaboration with Rihanna.
Now, “This Is What You Came For” is finally out and the collaboration is reminding us of their hit “We Found Love.”
The highly anticipated release (via Columbia Records) marks the duo’s second collaboration. “This Is What You Came For” is now available at all digital retailers.
The new song is filled with electropop sounds and the beat builds into a cinematic, house sound with Rihanna’s voice in a softer tone than what we’ve heard in “We Found Love.” When the beat drops, we can hear a mellow tropical house vibe that will get you grooving.
Harris recently made history as the first DJ to be booked as the premier headliner at Coachella, where he performed on both Sunday dates (April 17 and April 24). The record-breaking performance, which included Rihanna, drew the largest audience ever int he festival’s history, and marked Harris’ fourth Coachella booking.
Harris and Rihanna previously linked up in 2011 for the hit single “We Found Love,” which was so popular that it sat at No. 25 on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Charts.
We first got a teaser about Harris releasing new material when Swift posted an Instagram picture of herself wearing a jacket featuring the same blue logo on the back of it, which got a lot of EDM fans buzzing. Before heading to Coachella, she posted the picture captioned, “BLEACHELLA,” in support of her boyfriend.
The symbol depicted a mountain range with a lightening bolt and fans were able to guess that it’s the same image that is posted on Harris’ social media accounts.
