"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" will postpone its filming until its star Dylan O'Brien, who plays Thomas, has fully recuperated from the accident he suffered from last month.

"The resumption of principal photogrpahy on 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries," according to a statement from Fox obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."

O'Brien's publicist, Jennifer Allen, added: "His injuries are very serious, and he needs more time to recover."

It was recently revealed that the actor's injuries were more serious than what was previously reported.

"An action sequence was being filmed for a motion picture. This young worker was attached to a vehicle by harness, lanyard and overheard truss system when he climbed onto the back [of] another vehicle," according to a report from iNFOnews.ca.

The report continued, "As the vehicles slowed, the trailing vehicle the worker was anchored to slowed more rapidly than the vehicle the worker climbed onto."

Despite not being named in the report, a source confirmed to Teen Wolf News that it was O'Brien being described.

"The latest info on Dylan is the correct one," the source said, adding, "[He was] yanked to the ground by his own safety vehicle and dragged under it."

O'Brien has not addressed the situation, but the film's director, Wes Ball, has already released a statement about it.

"Well, it's been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days," the director said in a tweet. "I've been overwhelmed with feelings of anger and sadness and guilt. But ultimately, I find myself left with just a deep love and respect for Dylan."

Ball added: "I'm sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew."

"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is set to hit theaters Feb. 17, 2017.
