New spoilers for "Outlander" season two hinted that Claire Fraser is thinking about telling her husband Jamie that their nemesis Black Jack Randall is still alive in the third episode.
At the end of "Outlander" season two, episode two, Claire met Black Jack's little brother Alex at the French court and he mentioned that his older brother is still alive.
Balfe told The Hollywood Reporter that Claire is afraid to tell Jamie that Black Jack is still alive because she does not want to hinder her husband's psychological recovery and is terrified that the news will crush his soul.
"There's a great fear that this is going to be something that breaks Jamie," she explained. "She felt that they were finally getting to a place where they could put that to rest. Even though she still sees Jamie struggling with the torment of all that happened last season, she felt that perhaps they were on the road to recovery. Now with the knowledge that Black Jack is not actually dead and his brother is in Paris, she's so scared that it is going to break Jamie."
The "Outlander" star added that unfortunately, Claire is not going to tell Jamie Black Jack is still alive in the third episode. Instead, she is going to ask Murtagh to help her hide the truth from her husband.
"Claire and Murtagh decide that it is best to not tell Jamie," she said. "I think her fear is that he will suddenly run back to Scotland and try to kill him or do something really rash. But there are a lot of secrets and a lot of distance between both of them and here is another piece of information or another event that drives a wedge between the couple again."
Aside from Balfe confirming that Claire is not going to tell her husband Black Jack is still alive, STARZ released a new clip from the upcoming third episode.
E!Online reported that the preview revealed Claire got a job working at a hospital and befriended a woman named Mother Hildegarde, who uses her dog Bouton to diagnose her patients' illnesses.
"Outlander" season two is currently airing on Saturday nights at 9 p.m. ET on STARZ.
