It was recently reported that TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee committed suicide on Friday evening.
Banerjee, who portrayed the grown-up Anandi in the popular TV show “Balika Vadhu,” was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in Goregaon. While some friends expressed their shock over her drastic step, others went to add that “suicide is never the way out.” Many Bollywood celebrities expressed their condolences on Twitter, however, one comment that got many upset was from Hema Malini. She hinted that Banerjee’s death was “senseless.”

“All these senseless suicides achieve nothing! Life is god’s gift for us to live, not for us to take at will. We have no right to do that,” tweeted Malini.
In another tweet she added, “One must learn to overcome all odds and emerge successful, not succumb under pressure and give up easily. The world admires a fighter not a loser.”
Malini is being criticized for her insensitive tweets. Some fans pointed out that “sometimes, even to live is an act of courage.”
One user tweeted, “This is utterly insensitive, suicide may not be a solution but ranting about a deceased certainly doesn’t make you look great.”
Other Bollywood celebrities gave their well wishes and their condolences to Banerjee’s loved ones.
“Not the way to go....rip pratyusha banerjee...wen smeone dies they dont die alone...suicide is neva the rite way out.. SAD,” tweeted TV actor Karan Wahi. [sic]
Neha Kakkar tweeted, “First Jiah Khan and now Pratyusha Banerji :( Why?? No Ladies We’re not this Weak.. Really Sad :(.” [sic]
“Sad sad sad.. Nothing’s worth ending your 1 beautiful gift called like for... My heart bleeds for the parents and family.. #suicidesnvrthecure,” tweeted Gauahar Khan. [sic]
Hansika tweeted, “A sincere request to all Girlfriends, boyfriends, career, nothing is worth killing youself for. R.I.P. Pratyusha #gonetoosoon.” [sic]
