It's tough to steal the limelight when you are in the same room as The President of The United States, The First Lady, two royal princes and a duchess, but Prince George did just that today after greeting Michelle and Barack Obama in his dressing gown and slippers.

He also thanked them for the rocking horse they gave him when he was born, demonstrating his prowess as a rider while Mum clapped along.

The Obamas went to Kensington Palace for an informal dinner with Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. But it was two-year-old Prince George who stole the limelight.

Along with Prince Harry, William and Kate opened the doors of their 22-room private apartment - number 1A - to Mr and Mrs Obama, after the couple had lunched with the Queen at Windsor Castle. It is the first time that any of the young royals have entertained a head of state privately and the most significant event they have ever hosted at Kensington Palace. It ended a busy schedule of high-profile meetings and events for the President and the First Lady in the UK today after they arrived at Stansted Airport yesterday.
Catherine looked a flawless as ever wearing a long sleeved pink and blue semi-sheer below-the-knee dress from one of her favorite brands, L.K. Bennett. Michelle contrasted in a toffee colored coat over lighter tan top and lace skirt.
The two couples greeted each other with obvious warmth and affection.
