After having a successful run with “Tamasha,” which also starred his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor is booking another film that is going to be different from “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.”

Kapoor has reportedly been roped in for Ayan Mukerji’s next movie, which is a superhero trilogy, and it will apparently have his anti-hero character inspired from “Deadpool.” However, there appears to be a delay in starting the film.

According to Zee News, the movie, which will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, won’t be happening just yet. It is rumors that the movie has been shelved.

A part of the problem is that filmmaker Karan Johar reportedly isn’t convinced with the project because he isn’t a big fan of Indian superhero films.

Two of Kapoor’s successful films, “Wake Up Side” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,” was also directed by Mukerji.

The inspiration for the superhero film came when the director reportedly arranged for a private screening of the uncensored version of “Deadpool” in Mumbai. According to Zee News, a source close to the movie said that Mukerji requested for a private screening of the uncut version to get some inspiration while he scripts his own superhero film.

The source told the publication that Kapoor’s character in the film “is called the dragon, a dark anti-hero plagued by his emotions and a growing disdain for things around him.”

The source stated that the difference between “Deadpool” and “The Dragon” is that Mukerji’s story won’t follow a crusader trying to change the world. His superpowers will reportedly include fire from his palms.

In the mean time, Kapoor is also playing a character named Amit in “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, while Anushka Sharma plays Alizeh.

Kapoor made a small comment about his and Bachchan’s role, and it looks like we’ll be seeing some romance between the two.

“Of course Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) and I play each other’s love interests in the film. It is a love triangle, in a way. I’m just glad that people have liked her pairing with me. And I am happy that apprehensions have no been put to rest,” said Kapoor according to Filmi Beat.

Kapoor further gushed about Bachchan, saying, “It’s a dream to work with Aishwarya. I was an assistant on the sets of my father’s ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ (Aishwarya starred in the film) and I was so enamored by her - it wasn’t just her looks - but because at the time, she leveled with me and acted like a friend.”

“I still have that relationship with her and we are like friends. I can still tell her anything now, like I would back then,” said Kapoor. “We are still the same. There’s no ‘Oh, she’s Aishwarya Rai, the legend.’ I really value her as an actor, as a person and the star that she is.”
