While various rumors have been making the rounds about the relationship between Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift, the two have slowly become comfortable with making their dating life public.
The couple hasn’t been afraid to show that they are together, based on the the various Instagram pictures showing PDA.
We’ve spotted Harris and Swift out and about together a variety of times, but this time, they decided to go their separate ways the night of the Met Gala.
On May 2, Swift strutted the red carpet at the Met Gala, looking fierce in her silver metallic dress, dark lips and bleach blond hair. However, Harris wasn’t by her side during the event and we can’t help but wonder why.
A source told Hollywood Life that, “Taylor Swift didn’t take boyfriend Calvin Harris to the Met Gala because he is actually a really shy guy and does not like all the attention they get when they are together. Taylor is really in love with him and invites him everywhere but he always politely declines all of the glamorous events and award shows.”
Harris apparently likes to stay low-key with his relationship, and the source added, “He rarely steps on a red carpet with her and instead prefers to keep their relationship private. All the attention they get when they step out together freaks him out and he can never get used to it. He does not like to advertise their love.”
The fact that Harris prefers to skip out on the major appearances together doesn’t seem to bother Swift at all.
“Taylor loves Calvin so she obliges with all of his wishes and if that means going to events like the Met Gala alone, that is cool with her,” said the source to the gossip site. “They are both really happy together.”
In the mean time, Harris is busy with his music and just dropped his latest hit with Rihanna on April 29 called, “This Is What You Came For.”
