There are only a couple of weeks left before the season 5 finale for "Once Upon A Time" airs, and lead star Jennifer Morrison is already teasing that the episode is going to tug on a lot of heartstrings.
Morrison told Hollywood Life that even though the characters will manage to find their way out of the Underworld and back to Storybrooke, her character Emma Swan will still be put in an emotionally tough spot.
"I would say it's a good assumption that we're going to get out [of the Underworld]," she said. "We're going to see Emma the most vulnerable she's ever been, which I think is the strongest she's ever been because it takes an incredible amount of strength to allow yourself to be vulnerable."
Morrison might be hinting that one of her parents or friends would die during the finale or sacrifice themselves for her, which would put her in a compromising situation.
"She is incredibly grateful that they have come down into the Underworld with her to try help her save Hook, who means a lot to her," said Morrison. "But it provokes a tremendous guilt in her because she is worried, God forbid anything goes wrong, it's going to be because they came to help her. I think she's in a peaceful place in terms of understanding the decision her parents made and letting her guard down."
Next Sunday's episode entitled "Last Rites" actually shows Swan and Regina Mills (Lana Parilla) attending a funeral, but the promo did not reveal who they were mourning. However, the voiceover said that the said death will "[break] the very heart of Storybrooke forever."
"Once Upon a Time" airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC. The season finale entitled "An Untold Story," which is directed by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, will air on May 15.
