"Outlander" stars Tobias Menzies recently sat down to discuss what is in store for his character Black Jack Randall in season two.
Menzies told The Hollywood Reporter that Black Jack is going to appear in an upcoming episode, but the fallout from the breakout at Wentworth Prison was a crushing blow to the captain.
"We are going to meet a slightly less confident Jack in the second season," he explained. "That's partly due to the injuries he incurred, but I also imagine that there were probably some disciplinary fallout from the events at Wentworth for him. He's not the same person anymore. It's a nice reveal when he finally does turn up, but I can't say when or how that happens."
The "Outlander" star also hinted that there are going to be be a few scenes in season two that explore the brotherly relationship between Alex and Black Jack.
"You don't get to see a lot of it in action, but my feeling about it is Alex sees good in Jack," Menzies said. "It is incredibly important to Jack that he has someone who remembers or sees the good in him. He does everything to protect that image his brother has of him. If Alex dies, the one good bit of Jack dies with him. We kind of get a sense of who Jack was before life impacted him and he became who he is. His brother is a connection to a better version of himself."
Aside from "Outlander" exploring the Randall brothers' relationship, Stanley Weber hinted to Yahoo!TV that Jamie Fraser is going to try to prove the Comte St. Germain hired men to attack his wife and that could lead to a huge conflict between the two men.
"The prince is a very important person and the Comte is very attracted to power," he explained. "He is striving to have a wealthy business and he sees getting close to the prince as a way to expand his business and gain more power for himself. You can definitely expect interactions from those four. Jamie isn't going to let it go that someone tried to poison his wife and then attacked her and her friends. He is going to keep trying to prove that my character planned those things, and he may have to deal with the Comte if I become close to his prince."
"Outlander" season two is currently airing on Saturday nights at 9 p.m. ET on STARZ.
