One of Bollywood’s most successful actors, Shahrukh Khan, has already signed a few new films for 2016.
After a successful release with “Happy New Year” and "Dilwale," a few new details of the actor’s upcoming film “Raees,” has been revealed as it began shooting.
We’ve been hearing a lot of details about the actor’s movie and fans are excited to see what all the hype is about, however, we might have to wait for the movie even longer.
SRK was forced to push his Eid release date to Republic Day next year, which is the same day that two other major films are set to release.
Hrithik Roshan’s “Kaabil” and Ajay Devgn’s “Baadshao” is scheduled to release on Jan. 26, 2017 as well.
After confirming the news, Rakesh Roshan is apparently upset that “Raees” will be clashing with “Kaabil,” which is directed by Sanjay Gupta. The makers or both the films did have a discussion about the releases, but after SRK decided to confirm the release date, the producer got upset.
According to Bollywood Life, during the meeting, Hrithik Roshan had made it clear that his father and the director would be the right people to talk to in regards to shifting the “Kaabil” release date, but Rakesh refused.
“SRK and Hrithik had met to discuss the release, but ultimately, it’s the call of the makers,” said a source to the gossip site. “Rakesh Roshan has decided to not shift the release date. But he is very upset that ‘Raees’ is also releasing on the same date. He even called up Ritesh Sidwani on Monday afternoon to express the same and on Tuesday when the announcement came in the newspapers, he was pretty irked.”
However, Rakesh denied calling Ritesh and revealed that SRK never approached him with a request to move his date.
“No one approached me, my release date was announced in February this year for Jan. 26, 2017 and I am sticking to it. Who comes or who doesn’t is not my problem,” said Rakesh to the media.
Director Rahul Dholakia confirmed that “Raees” is not longer releasing on Eid, tweeting, “Film ke liye jo sahi woh sahi. Thank you for your continued support for Raees. Love you all.”
An official statement from SRK, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar released, saying, “[It] was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January 2017.”
Previous reports stated that SRK was thinking about pushing the “Raees” release date until 2017, however, his fans want him to stick with the Eid 2016 release date.
