New spoilers for "The Originals" season three hinted that there is a good chance Davina Claire could return from the dead in the finale or possibly even in season four.
Previously on "The Originals," Kol Mikaelson accidentally killed his girlfriend Davina and his sister tried to bring the young witch back to life.
Unfortunately, her efforts allowed the souls of the dead witches who are currently haunting New Orleans to tear Davina's spirit apart.
Even though Davina appears to be gone for good, "The Originals" star Danielle Campbell hinted to TVLine that there is a chance her character could return from the dead at some point.
"It is hard to say for sure," she said. "A lot of it depends on story arcs and availability down the line, but I think it is going to be up in the air. The producers and the writers are still figuring out the next storylines once they return for season four, so it hinges on what is going to happen a few months from now. But never say never!"
Perhaps Freya will find a way to restore Davina's soul in the season three finale or even in the beginning of the fourth season.
Campbell also revealed that Kol and Marcel are going to be devastated in the wake of Davina's death, which could have serious repercussions for the Mikaelson family.
"Kol is going to have the strongest reaction to Davina's death, although it is going to be hard on Marcel too," she explained. "They were part of each other's family for so long, and even though Marcel is also considered to be part of Klaus's family, he chose to be part of Davina's family. I think it is going to be really hard for him."
Aside from the possibility of Davina returning in the season three finale or even in season four, the CW also released the official synopsis for episode 21.
SpoilerTV reported that "Give 'Em Hell Kid" is going to revolve around Freya receiving a vision of a deadly new enemy while Kol and Vincent travel to the ancestral world in order to battle the spirits of the deceased witches.
Elsewhere, Klaus and Elijah are going to confront Marcel, who wants revenge for Davina's death.
"The Originals" season three is currently airing on Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
