Don't Invite Property Brothers' Jonathan Scott Into Your Bedroom If You Have Dirty Clothes On the Floor

Jonathan Scott of HGTV's Property Brothers has made a career out of hanging out in other people's bedrooms—and living rooms, and kitchens, and bathrooms—so when he says something's not bedroom-appropriate, you should probably take his word for it. With that in mind, listen up: The home guru shared his bedroom dos and don'ts with us when we chatted with him about his partnership with Stearns & Foster's Redesign Your Retreat campaign. We suggest you take notes. (Unless you're Russell Simmons: Jonathan says he has the best bedroom and the most beautiful, spacious closets he's ever seen.)
DO: Have a cozy throw on hand for movie night. Jonathan loves to cozy up under this less-than-$50 throw from West Elm. "It's so simple, but adds so much character to a room," he says. Fun fact: This blanket only comes out for movie night, because Jonathan doesn't watch TV. Like, ever. The one exception: He watched 70 hours of Game of Thrones back to back so he could watch the season finale with his girlfriend. How's that for boyfriend points?
DON'T: Have clothes strewn all over your bedroom floor. {Erm. Gulity. } The first time Jonathan ever went to a (now ex) girlfriend's house and saw she had dirty clothes covering the floor, he had seen enough to realize the relationship wouldn't work.
DO: Give your significant other some space. Jonathan says his brother Drew's girlfriend "has zero closet space because Drew has about 180 pairs of shoes." #jealous
