Elle Fanning isn't exactly what we'd call a "hair chameleon." Besides that short stint as a brunette back in 2014, Fanning has pretty much kept her hair the same golden blond it's always been. Not that that's a bad thing. Some women just know what works for them, and stick to it. So to say this latest change is a shocker really isn't an understatement.
After wrapping up promotions for her new film, The Neon Demon—which features some major hair and makeup moments (think glitter tears and braided crowns)—Elle debuted a freshly dyed, rose gold hair color on Instagram last night.
The pale shade, created by Elle's hair colorist, Jenda Alcorn of Ramirez Tran Salon in Beverly Hills, appears to be a romantic, muted version of the pastel pink hair trend from last summer, making it a pretty fantastic choice considering how beautifully it contrasts against her fair complexion. Check out the new hue, below:
Labeled "dusty" by Elle and "pink panther" by Jenda, Fanning's hair almost looks as if it were sprinkled with a slight shade of blush to give it that softly tinted appearance. We'd even go as far as to say that the look is a mix between an ethereal, fairytale princess and a punk rock queen.
While this is definitely Elle Fanning's most dramatic hair transformation to date, other stars have gotten a rose gold dye job well before her, with Emma Roberts being the most recent. Even though Roberts' hair is a bit heavier on the gold instead of pastel pink, it's still a good representation of the different outcomes available depending on your base color.
