Netflix
The good news: Netflix's original offerings are as plentiful and masterful as ever. The bad news: The question "What do you want to watch?" has become as difficult impossible to answer as "What do you want to eat?" If you find yourself overwhelmed by your choices and short on binge-watching time, we've got the solution, and it's straight from the stars. (Of the zodiac variety, natch.) After consulting an expert astrologist, we determined exactly what you should be watching according to your zodiac sign. Read on for your 2016 streaming horoscope and then get to watching.
HOUSE OF CARDS
Perfect for: Capricorns, Scorpios
Why They Should Watch: According to Celestial Navigation, scorpios are most often described as powerful, tactless, intense, and controlling. Sound familiar? This zodiac sign is bound to find a kindred spirit, on some level, in the always-scheming and power-hungry Frank Underwood and his cast of supporting characters (wife Claire, right-hand man Doug Stamper, etc.). Not to mention, Scorpios are typically "very passionate" about politics, according to astrologist Valerie Morrissey. Capricorns are also likely to be enamored with Mr. Underwood and his ways, as they tend to be "determined and vicious people," Morrissey says. "They prefer to be the power behind the throne. They are a force to be reckoned with."
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
Perfect for: Libras
Why They Should Watch: Libra is the "sign of the scales," Morrissey says, which means that they have a liking for all things justice and fairness-related. OITNB's underlying themes of corruption in the United States' prison system, abuse of power by correctional officers, and how the letter of the law is not always fair will appeal to a Libra's sensibilities and desires to balance the scale.
BLOODLINE
Perfect for: Aries, Cancers
Why They Should Watch: Each of these signs is drawn to Netflix's family drama for completely different reasons. Cancers should watch Bloodline because of its idyllic setting in the Florida Keys. "Cancers like to be around the ocean very much so," Morrissey explains. "They need to be around water." The idea of sticking close to your childhood home—like the Rayburns—is also appealing to Cancers, as they tend to be homebodies. Aries, however, will be hooked thanks to Danny Rayburn (played by the excellent Ben Mendelsohn). Danny's character is the primary source of discord among the Rayburn family, a role he seems to enjoy—and Aries are known for their "fiery" personalities. "Aries love a good fight," Morrissey says.
UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT
Perfect for: Geminis
Why They Should Watch: "I like to refer to Gemini as the butterfly of the zodiac because they can't stay in one place," Morrissey says. "But they are fun to have around—light, cheery, and really good with kids." Sounds strikingly similar to the affable Kimmy Schmidt, the ever-optimistic survivor of an underground apocalyptic cult now finding her way in New York City.
NARCOS
Perfect for: Leos
Why They Should Watch: This series follows the infamous Pablo Escobar at the height of his drug cartel—and the life of sheer wealth and opulence he lived as a result. (Never mind the fact that he was also the subject of a major DEA operation.) The baller lifestyle Escobar enjoyed, though, will appeal to the flash-loving Leos in a major way. "Leos love glamour, fame, and money," Morrissey says. "They like to be in charge and be waited on."
JESSICA JONES
Perfect for: Virgos
Why They Should Watch: "Virgos are servers; they like to rescue people, to save people," Morrissey says. "They are very loyal, but emotionally inhibited." If we didn't know any better, we'd think Morrissey was describing the Marvel Universe's Jessica Jones herself. Jones can't help but try to save the day (even if she claims she's in superhero retirement), and she's certainly not lovey-dovey when it comes to relationships (she's more of the bed-breaking type).
MAKING A MURDERER
Perfect for: Libras
Why They Should Watch: Remember when we said Libras love justice and fairness? Well, they are going to be all heart-eye emojis once they lay eyes on defense attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, the two who work to defend Stephen Avery after he claims he's been framed for murder—and by his own county sheriff's department, no less.
CHELSEA DOES
Perfect for: Sagittarius
Why They Should Watch: Chelsea Handler's docu-series is the ideal combination of comedy and curiousity—a juxtaposition right after a Sagittarius' heart. "Being half animal, the Sagittarius has a side that is kind of wild...there's never a dull moment with a Sag," Morrissey says. "Then they have this other side that is highly minded and intelligent. They have an inquiring mind."
THE RANCH
Perfect for: Taurus
Why They Should Watch: Taurus is an earth sign; "They love the outdoors, looking after the environment, getting their hands dirty," Morrissey says. So the premise of this Netflix series, which follows two brothers—played by Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson—who work together to save their family's ranching business (hence the title), is aimed right at a Taurus' heart.
SENSE8
Perfect for: Aquarius
Why They Should Watch: "Aquarius is a human sign, they are a revolutionary type of people," Morrissey explains. "They are different, unusual, highly intelligent, and curious." Sounds like she is describing each of the sensates, the eight individuals from all over the globe in this sci-fi thriller series that are connected by their thoughts, actions, and abilities—and an intense curiosity to find out why.
GRACE AND FRANKIE
Perfect for: Pisces
Why They Should Watch: Pisces are known for bringing luck and opportunity and people together, according to Morrissey. When it boils down to it, Grace and Frankie is really about all three of those things. Though having your respective husbands leave you to marry each other may not seem like a stroke of luck, it's an instance that forms an unlikely and strong bond between the two women. That type of connection is a Pisces' M.O.
