While there's still some debate over whether the G-spot even exists, at least a few women are beyond-convinced that it does—and even say they can stimulate it just by touching their lower stomachs. Some people even refer to it as the "external G-spot"
"If my partner places the palm of their hand right above my pelvic bone and gently applies pressure, it drives me crazy," says Charyn, 43.
"I went to an amazing squirting workshop and learned (and experienced) that if you press down on the lower stomach while having your G-spot stimulated from inside, it helps stimulate the G-spot, thus causing some awesome squirtage," says Jera, 34.
What's going on here?
Good Vibrations staff sexologist Carol Queen, Ph.D., says it is indeed possible to stimulate the G-spot from the outside. When you put pressure on the lower abdomen, you're pushing on the bladder, which, in turn, pushes on the G-spot just below it.
"There's a fair amount of skin and muscle in the way, but stimulation is definitely possible," says sex therapist Vanessa Marin.
Some women also can feel "a shivery, sometimes erotic sensation" through touch right below the belly button, says Queen.
If you want to try to experience external G-spot stimulation, experiment with pressing down or having your partner press down just above the pubic bone. You can also try stimulating from the outside and the inside by putting a finger inside you at the same time. It won't feel amazing for everyone, but it's worth a try, right?
