In may 2019, Jamil shared an article from Slate on Twitter related to Georgia's legislation and called it "upsetting, inhumane, and blatantly demonstrative of a hatred of women, a disregard for our rights, bodies, intellectual health, and pretty much a punishment for rape victims, forcing to lift the child of their rapist."
