Director James Bobin ("The Muppets," "Muppets Most Wanted") is behind the helm of Disney's "Alice Through The Looking Glass," where Alice takes her most perilous journey yet to help her eclectic group of friends.
In this highly-anticipated sequel, Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the past few years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland, according to Coming Soon.
Here are four things we know so far about this Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter sequel to Disney's "Alice in Wonderland."

4. Alice Has To Save The Mad Hatter
According to Cinema Blend, the sequel will find that when Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the world of Underland, she discovers that things are going very wrong. The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is "growing darker," and of course, Alice's goodness is the only thing that can help Underland before it falls into despair and save The Mad Hatter.
3. Many Of The Beloved Characters From The First Film Will Return For The Sequel
Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), Absolem (Alan Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), Mirana the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), The Queen of Hearts (Helena Bonham Carter) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), according to Coming Soon.

Alice (Mia Wasikowska) turns to Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), for help, a creature who is part human, part clock.

1. In Order To Help Her Friends' Futures, Alice She Must Go To The Past To Fix Their Mistakes
Returning to the past, she comes across friends and enemies at different points in their lives and embarks on a perilous race to save the Mad Hatter before time runs out.
"Alice Through The Looking Glass" hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
