'Chicago PD' Season 3 SPOILERS: Will Burgess Get Together With Roman Now That She Has Called Off Engagement To Ruzek?

Last week's episode of "Chicago PD" was a tough one and it had nothing to do with the crimes that were committed. Rather Burgess (Marina Squerciati) finally got too frustrated to let Det. Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) keep stringing her along in their engagement so she broke it off. First he made them delay setting a date and then he put off moving in together. She just couldn't take it anymore. Though it was a tough breakup it looks like Burgess may be moving on sooner rather than later and it may be with someone else in intelligence, specifically her partner Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty.)
Squerciati talked about her character's new single status and breakup with The Hollywood Reporter. "What's funny is, just before this interview, they told us what we're allowed to say and what we're not allowed to say and one of the things that they said - again, they tell us nothing - is how this might complicate my relationship with Roman. I was like, "Wait, what? Oh my God," so I'm really nervous. I had no idea," she said. She continued later, "I literally just read that and I'm like, "Are we going to sleep together? Are we going to have a relationship? Is he just going to come to my aide and Ruzek gets jealous?" I wish I knew. I don't know. I'm interested because I feel like Roman and I have a real buddy relationship and I can't see quite yet how that would turn, if it is going to turn. I have no scoop there, but if its going to turn, I haven't seen how it will happen yet; over beers at Molly's probably."
It sounds like Burgess may put in for a transfer though as she finds it will be very difficult to see her former fiance at work everyday. Squerciati also talked about how difficult it will be for her character to work along side Sgt. Platt who is in the middle of planning her own wedding. "It's horrible. Next week's episode, you'll really see what that does to Burgess. Having to step up for Platt and be there for Platt and be positive. My mom always said, "Never let an enemy know they're an enemy." Platt has always been like, "He's never going to marry you," but I don't want to show any chinks in the armor. I really want to maintain a steely front for her and, especially because she's getting married, it gets harder and harder," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
But the actress noted that the breakup will bring her and Det. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) closer together.
