"The 100" executive producer Jason Rothenberg recently sat down to discuss the third season and hinted that there is a chance Bellamy could become a father in a future episode.
In "The 100" season premiere, Bellamy Blake made the decision to move on from Clarke Griffin and started dating a young woman named Gina.
Rothenberg told the Hollywood Reporter that he felt it was important to show Bellamy moving on and trying to get over his feelings for Clarke in premiere.
"It was important that we saw that life moved on and the people on the ground were trying to establish a real life and peace," he explained. "We've seen him with other people before, it's not like this is the first person he's been with, but in terms of a relationship it's the first one for sure. It will bother some people but he deserves to be happy. Clarke left, she bailed on him and he feels betrayed by that. He didn't know about her "other" relationship with Lexa."
"The 100" showrunner also hinted that it is possible Bellamy could become a father in an upcoming episode in the third season.
"We kept in the line about contraceptives because there could be a pregnancy," Rothenberg said. "I don't love stories like that generally, but that was important to me to put in as a world-building nugget for sure."
Aside from Bellamy and Gina possibly becoming parents, Rothenberg also confirmed that Steve Talley is not going to be reprising his role of Wick in "The 100" season three.
"Wick is not going to return," he said. "Raven broke up with him and pushed him away off-camera. Steve was great, he's a busy actor and things happen casting-wise so we have moved beyond that and Raven is definitely in that place. She's pushing everybody away. She's denying that she's in that much pain really."
Finally, "The 100" star Eliza Taylor briefly spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her character's current mindset and she hinted that Clarke is trying to keep the memories of her loved ones at bay so she can stay alive while on the run.
"She's out there by herself in the woods just trying to come to terms with what she's done," Taylor explained. "She's kind of gone rogue. She's all about surviving at this point. She's decided this is her new life and it's too painful to think about the ones she has left behind."
"The 100" is currently airing on Thursdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
