STARZ recently announced that Sophie Skelton had landed the role of Brianna Randall, who is the daughter of Claire and Jamie Fraser, in "Outlander" season two.
According to TVLine, the network revealed that Skelton is going to play Brianna in the second season. The official description for her character has been described as a strong-minded and intelligent young woman who has inherited the Fraser family's stubborn streak.
In Diana Gabaldon's original novels, Claire is forced to return to her own time period and her daughter Brianna grows up believing that Frank Randall is her biological father.
However, Brianna does wind up finding out the truth about her real parentage. At first she is skeptical, but certain turn of events force the young woman to accept that her mother's story about time travel is true.
Skelton recently took to Twitter and wrote that she's "so excited to be joining the Outlander team."

Heughan took a lighter approach and made a joke about he could have played Brianna in the show.
Aside from announcing the Skelton had landed the role of Brianna, STARZ also posted two new "Twitter.
The first image shows a distraught Claire tending to an unconscious man, who could be her husband Jamie. She is holding one hand out to stop someone from coming closer and uses her other hand to stop a wound from bleeding.
The second image shows Claire and Jamie sharing a tender moment in what appears to be the French king's gardens.
